Description & Overview

Services

Very often in the course of assembling a team to work on an SBIR/STTR proposal, a small business needs expertise, consulting, PI support, lab equipment, etc. In the Partner with a Professor Program, university faculty initiate the process by finding SBIR/STTR topics of interest that they can support. Fundamentally, it works the same way as the Partner with a Prime Program. They blast out topics and support information to CT small companies. The CT SBIR Office matches the small business to the universities, enabling the transfer of technology via the SBIR project.

The process:

  1. The CT SBIR office sends out a list of topics of interest to a university
  2. You find one (or more topics) you would like to work on
  3. You call the SBIR agency and speak with the TPOC (technical point of contact) to make sure you are on track and still want to pursue the application
  4. You email them with the topic number and description
  5. They give you the university's contact information
  6. You call the university to see if they are interested in your technology. If so, request a letter of support on their letterhead to be included in your SBIR application
